Mountain location, weather and the variety of activities makes the town of Angel Fire, New Mexico an ideal summer vacation destination! Because of it’s central location on the Enchanted Circle, Angel Fire is the perfect base for exploring the northeastern quadrant of New Mexico including Taos, Red River, Eagle Nest and Cimarron. 

At an elevation of 8,420 feet, Angel Fire’s summer temperature is seldom above 80 degrees. The cooler temperature and low humidity enable sports enthusiast to enjoy their hobbies even more!  The PGA Champion Golf Course is open May thru October. The ski chairlift becomes a mountain bike lift to the top of the ski mountain for a fast ride down the slopes! Cool mountain weather is ideal for family hikes or picnics in the surrounding national forest. Hungry brown and rainbow trout are waiting in stocked lakes and mountain streams for the fishermen. Summer and Fall "things to do" include golf tournaments, mountain bike races, music events, car shows, disc golf, Octoberfest and of course, swimming at the new Country Club pool.In addition to the fire painted sunsets, Angel Fire has spectacular views of New Mexico’s highest mountain, Wheeler Peak! Mountain Bike the ski trail in Angel Fire, NM this summer!

MOUNTAIN BIKE: May 24, 2012 Get on the downhill with a bike.
Bike the ski slope if you dare! Bring your own bike or rent one. The Chili Express chairlift will carry you and your bike to the ski mountain trails (reviews). Mountain Bike rentals are available at the base of the chairlift and at several locations in Angel Fire. Special events are planned throughout the summer and fall seasons. New trails have been added for more summer fun! Thrusday - Monday 10a.m. to 5p.m. Review complete schedule at Angel Fire Resort.

When relaxed “vacation attitude” and high altitude meet in Angel Fire, golf balls will travel further! One of the top rated PGA Championship Golf courses in New Mexico with over 6,600 yards of high altitude play waits for you in the cool mountain valley.  Sign up for lessons and clinics at the Golf Pro Shop. BOATS: Paddle and row boats are available to rent at Monte Verde Lake located south of the golf course. Eagle Nest Lake State Park (just north of AngelFire) offers boat rental and fishing.

FISHING:  Catch that Big One this summer at Monte Verde Lake or in the nearby Eagle Nest Lake State Park. Olympic Park Lake in Angel Fire is the perfect place to teach the "Little Ones" to fish. Paddle boat and row boat rentals, fly fishing lessons and guided fishing services are available. Bring your rod or rent one. A fresh grilled mountain trout makes an unforgetable dinner!  

HIKING: Recreational trails are open to hiking, biking, cross country skiing and snow-shoeing. Information and maps are available at the Centro Plaza in Angel Fire.
